Hello, Yes, the parks here are animal sanctuaries. Many of the animal were previously mistreated, abused, and/or lost their homes. In fact, the government reaches out to the local parks to assist in many circumstances. The Roatan parks are very cautious and limit interaction to specific hours of the day... in efforts to reduce and stress if present.
