According to my guidebook, it says between 6 AM and 10 AM in the morning, once during the week day. If you really want to avoid crowds, I would get there at 5 o’clock in the morning …

According to my guidebook, it says between 6 AM and 10 AM in the morning, once during the week day. If you really want to avoid crowds, I would get there at 5 o’clock in the morning or in the middle of the night when it’s illuminated. This advice would also extend to any tours you are doing such as Vatican museum, or the Colosseum… try to do a first tour of the day.
