Fabulous art gallery in a beautiful building. The art school is downstairs; go up the stairs to enter the gallery. Art is organised from earliest dates to later. Fascinating to see the changing style…Full review by Lauren-Ann-P

Is this area and place safe for visitors? Is there a lot of pickpockets around art museums. Best to not ruin my vacation if it’s not safe

There is rather strong presence of police on the Milan streets. No need to fear - I think Paris is actually much worse when it gets to pick pocketing. I would suggest to hold onto your purse/wallet around Duomo where it is constantly crowded, but I found the narrow streets around Pinacoteca perfectly safe. If there is something to watch for - do not accept absolutely any roses, bird feed, or bracelets ANYWHERE in the city. You will be running into people who are offering them all the time, especially around Duomo and in Galleria, The second you take something from the person who offers it to you (with a huge, generous smile), you will either lose at least 5 Euros (on barely a handful of pigeon feed or one rose) or you will become the center of intimidating screaming, bargaining, pleading, and shoving. You will be glad to pay the money just to escape the scene.....Take my word - ignore these people and avoid eye contact. Have a great trip. It is a marvelous city!
