Hello there, I’ve been reading a lot of articles about you and most of them are good reviews! I’m really interested in the ATM cave tour. I do have some concerns. Is this cave tour good for those who claustrophobic and not a swimmer? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am 5ft 7 inches. The three river crossings all have a rope across you can hold on to and you can walk across. Only one is shoulder height but rest are lower. I am not a good swimmer and they offered personal flotation devices (pdf) on our tour and I said yes please it will help me be more relaxed. Other tours we saw all the members were wearing PDF's so it probably depends on the guide but they seem to have them centrally located at the picnic area entrance. There was one very tight spot where you have to turn your head sideways and get the rest of your body in the water but the guide is right by you ready to help and watching out. Some of the cave is wide open rooms and some are smaller with group sitting or standing close together to see or hear or fit on a smooth rock area. If you have never been in a cave on a tour this would not be a good first time experience but if you have been in any cavern tour before it would be similar except not as many rules as the USA, no manmade rail and walkway etc, and you don't navigate the water. It was our favorite thing we did and we felt so invigorated and alive after we did it. Our guide shared that it is very safe and considering the number of people that go in and out problems, injuries etc are extremely rare. We did meet a lady on our way out who didn't feel her knees could handle the part where you climb up over a large boulder so her guide had her wait there. The guides all know each other and she came out with our group so they have ways of sending info to the other groups to let them know what's going on.
