I only really want to take a look at the wall and fort. Will I still be required to pay the museum fee?

No you don’t have to go in the museum as that’s optional. But you do need to pay for the wall etc unless you are a member of English heritage or national trust . Hope this helps x
Is the car park here open after the closing hours of the Roman Fort? My husband and I plan on visiting here but will be arriving later in the day. We will tour the fort first during operational hours but probably will not have time to visit Hadrians Wall before the Fort Closes. We were wondering does the car park also close or can we leave our car parked in the lot while we visit Hadrian's Wall?

The actual car park will remain open. There are payment meters for the car park, these use number plate recognition and know your arrival time. Before departure you need to type in …
The actual car park will remain open. There are payment meters for the car park, these use number plate recognition and know your arrival time. Before departure you need to type in your number plate and pay for your time parked. The car park is run by the National Park, but I am sure Housesteads will be able to tell you the correct details if you call them. Enjoy your visit.
