When we were there it wasn’t necessary but I believe they are separate tickets for the Zoo

Hi I made the trip via villa Borghese so you get the line to Villa Borghese from Termini( Sorry cannot remember whether it is Line A/B but just look on the line posters catch the one that says Villa Borghese it may well be the same line you are already travelling on from another destination) then its a pleasant stroll through the park, along the way there are plenty of cart taxis (get a legal one) you can pay 4-5 euros to be taken up to biopark...this way you get a chance to enjoy Villa Borghese and get some beautiful images then go to the zoo, hope that helps.
