Scattered storms are back for Sunday afternoon, primarily between 1 and 7 p.m. Any activity eyeing the tri-state through the afternoon and evening could bring severe storms, damaging winds and flash flooding.

Sunday is our next First Alert Weather Day. There will be plenty of clouds with rounds of showers and storms throughout the day tomorrow. Humidity spikes again, too, so any downpours will be capable of brief heavy rain. Localized spots of flash flooding are certainly possible wherever the heaviest cells move through.

Wildfire smoke from Canada has triggered air quality alerts across New York and the Northeast, with hazy skies and unhealthy conditions expected through today.

On Monday at 10:07 a.m. an air quality alert was reported by the National Weather Service in effect until Tuesday at midnight for much of Upstate New York, including the Syracuse area.
