Naomi Osaka is onto the semi-finals at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand on Jan. 3. The tennis champion’s quarterfinal comeback against the U.S.’s Hailey Baptiste means she’s close to winning her first WTA title in almost four years.

Naomi Osaka has had one of her best weeks during her comeback but just like the last good week on the tour, it has been blighted by a sudden injury which in this case saw her lose the final of the ASB Classic in Auckland to Clara Tauson.

Naomi Osaka will have the upperhand on the other players who are into the latter stages of the ASB Classic in Auckland on Saturday after winning the only match that took place today to reach the semi-finals.

Naomi Osaka’s participation in the Australian Open is being put into question after she sustained an injury while playing in a WTA tournament in Auckland. On Sunday, the tennis player competed against Denmark’s Clara Tauson in her first WTA final since 2022.
