Bangladesh has formally protested to India over Sheikh Hasina’s statements, calling them false and hostile. This follows protests and vandalism targeting Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has demanded that India restrict Hasina’s speeches.

Thousands of protesters set fire to the home of Bangladesh's founding leader as his daughter, ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, called on her supporters to stand against the interim government.

Hasina's Awami League recently announced plans for protests in February, including a general strike. This infuriated student activists and anti-Hasina groups, who on Wednesday stormed and demolished the historic home of her father, Bangladesh's independence leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

A mob in Bangladesh has demolished the Dhaka family home of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and properties owned by some of her relatives. Leaders of Hasina's Awami League party were also targeted by the mob.

Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lodged a strong protest with the Indian Government over the ‘false and fabricated’ comments and statements being made by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
