A nightmare start to the 2025 season is over for Rafael Devers. The Red Sox DH broke out of his slump with a two-hit night for Boston in the a 3-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. Devers entered the game 0-for-19 at the plate this season,

And what Devers and the Red Sox hope is a breakthrough occurred in the fifth inning of Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Devers got ahead of Orioles pitcher Zach Eflin on a two-ball, one-strike count, and the right-hander left too much of a curveball in the middle of the strike zone on his next pitch.

Ramirez was referencing Devers being moved to designated hitter this offseason after starting his career as a third baseman. The Red Sox made the change after signing star third baseman Alex Bregman this winter, a far better defensive player than Devers, though Devers wasn't thrilled about the decision.
