Gardaí have launched an investigation after a woman died onboard a ferry which docked at Rosslare Europort on Tuesday evening. A man was arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act,

A man questioned by gardai over the death of a woman on board a passenger ferry has been released, as investigators treat the incident as a personal tragedy. An incident occurred on a 2pm Stena Nordica sailing from Fishguard in Wales to Rosslare Europort, and the ferry docked in Co Wexford.

A man arrested in connection with the death of a woman aboard a ferry bound for Rosslare Europort from Wales yesterday afternoon continues to be questioned by gardaí on Wednesday morning. Gardaí along with the public order unit were called to what they described as a “serious incident” on the Stena Nordica passenger ferry from Fishguard.

Gardaí (Irish police) are continuing to question a man in connection with the death of a woman on board a ferry sailing from Wales to Ireland. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, on the 14:00 GMT Stena Line sailing from Fishguard to Rosslare in County Wexford.

The Stena Nordica had travelled from Fishguard in Wales to Rosslare in Co Wexford earlier this evening and gardaí (Irish police) are currently at the scene.
