Giancarlo Stanton, who began Spring Training 2025 on shutdown due to tendinitis in both elbows, has now been sent back to New York City to be evaluated by team doctors, according to a report from the New York Post.

The New York Yankees could have Giancarlo Stanton available for the upcoming season, according to a report on the health of their designated hitter’s elbows.

TAMPA, Fla. — Giancarlo Stanton wasn’t at his Yankees clubhouse locker on Sunday before, during or after any of the three media availabilities. The oft-injured slugger who’s in an indefinite holding pattern due to tennis elbow in both arms wasn’t at Steinbrenner Field or his Tampa residence.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone provided an increasingly worrisome injury update on designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton, who has been battling soreness in both elbows this spring. Boone says that Stanton won't start baseball activities in the immediate future.

Tennis elbow is almost always the result of injury from repeated action, such as swinging a tennis racquet or, in Stanton’s case, a baseball bat, said Dr. Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas, an orthopedic surgeon at New York University Langone Health.

Giancarlo Stanton is out with injured elbows and his return date is uncertain. However, the Yankees might have found the right candidate.

The New York Yankees are already dealing with an injury to one of their top power hitters. Giancarlo Stanton has soreness in both elbows and hasn't swung a bat in three to four weeks, he revealed Monday morning. He said the injury is something he played through last season, and added he expects to do the same this year.
