Feb. 5—A construction worker died Wednesday afternoon after an 8-foot trench collapsed at a southwest Houston Apartment Complex, according to a spokesperson for the Houston Fire Department.

A crew was digging a hole on the property when it collapsed and trapped a worker. Houston Fire Department officials said the worker died at the scene.
