The committee is investigating allegations that Nepalese students protesting the death of fellow student Prakriti Lamsal were assaulted and forcibly sent back to Nepal from Cuttack railway station

Senior officials of KIIT, including its founder Achyuta Samanta, on February 21 appeared before the State government’s high-level committee investigating the alleged suicide of a Nepalese student and subsequent attack on students from the neighbouring country.

Responding to a query on KIIT student death row, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday said that India accords high priority to the safety, security, and well-being of all international students in the country.
