Manny Machado homered in the first inning and hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in a four-run seventh for the San Diego Padres, who rallied past the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 on Sunday to take two of three games in their series.

“The quality of at-bats in the seventh was unbelievable,” Padres manager Mike Shildt said.

The San Diego Padres have been struggling over the past few weeks, but third baseman Manny Machado has been hitting like a star with one of the hottest bats in the league.
