Four former Michigan football players filed a class-action lawsuit over the “wrongful” use of their name, image and likeness last September, and the number of ex-Wolverines joining the suit continues to grow.

Hundreds of former Michigan football players are seeking $50 million for the continued use of name, image and likenesses on TV in a class-action suit.

A year after winning a national championship, Michigan football finds itself in the middle of a legal battle that could reshape college athletics. Over 300 former Wolverines are suing the NCAA and the Big Ten, claiming their names, images, and likenesses (NIL) were used without permission—and more importantly, without compensation.

Former Michigan football stars Denard Robinson and Braylon Edwards filed a lawsuit back in September against the Big Ten and the NCAA. They filed the lawsuit because they claim that the NCAA, Big Ten and Big Ten Network used their name, image and likeness without permission.
