Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy's recovery from meniscus surgery was a national media talker for months. Pundits considered whether he would be physically ready to take over as starting quarterback as Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones and even Aaron Rodgers remained in the purview of the Vikings' future at quarterback.
This week, J.J. McCarthy revealed the Minnesota Vikings haven't told him that he'll be the team's starter in 2025. But the meniscus injury that sidelined him for all of 2024 won't prevent him from competing for the job.
