On Thursday, the news broke that the Pittsburgh Steelers and star edge defender T.J. Watt had agreed to terms on a huge new contract. The new four-year contract has a total value of $144 million, with $123 million in new money and $108 million of that guaranteed. Watt is now the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history on a per-season basis.

There will be no holdout for T.J. Watt. With the Steelers getting ready to report to training camp in less than a week (July 23), Watt was able to get an extension done with the team that will make him the highest-paid non quarterback in the NFL.

There doesn't seem to be much external concern about superstar edge rusher T.J. Watt's contractual standstill with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Many of the most tapped in sources anticipate an agreement eventually being reached, though it may take some time.
