Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was drafted with the No. 8 pick by Charles Barkley. Jalen Williams was drafted with the No. 11 pick by Kenny Smith. Shaquille O'Neal was the third person who drafted an eight-player All-Star team.

In terms of scoring 50+ points in a seven-game span, Gilgeous-Alexander joins the likes of Hall of Fame talents such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant. Shai addressed it means to join an elite group of NBA scorers.

Alexander figured his night was over at the end of the third quarter, when the Oklahoma City Thunder held a 25-point lead over the Phoenix Suns. He was fine with sitting down with 46 points. But Thunder coach Mark Daigneault wanted to give his superstar a shot to hit the 50-point milestone for the third time in a seven-game span.
