Nels Surtani and Supapon Amornchaichan each tallied rounds of 1-over par 73, but the Purdue men's golf team couldn't get anything going in the opening round of the NCAA Championships held at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad,

Thanks to Justin Biwer, it was an excellent first step for the Colorado men’s golf team at the NCAA championships.

This has made Omni Hotels & Resorts a prominent player in major championship golf. But perhaps more importantly, it’s also served as a catalyst for providing the best possible experience for resort guests and members at all of its properties.

La Costa was awarded the championships for three years, a leap of faith for a course that at the time was little more than mounds of dirt and a county that last hosted the NCAAs in 1974 at Carlton Oaks Country Club in Santee. (The men’s champion was future Hall of Famer Curtis Strange from Wake Forest.)
