Former Proud Boys extremist group leader Enrique Tarrio and Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes have been released from prison after their lengthy sentences for seditious conspiracy convictions in the Jan.

Rehl, a former leader of the Philly Proud Boys, had been sentenced to 15 years for seditious conspiracy. But after Trump commuted his sentence, he walked out of prison a free man.

A day after U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping grant of clemency to all of the nearly 1,600 people charged in connection with the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, America’s far-right celebrated. Some called for the death of judges who oversaw the trials.

Until President Trump’s pardon, Enrique Tarrio was serving a 22-year prison term, the longest sentence handed down to any of the nearly 1,600 people charged in connection with Jan. 6.

Enrique Tarrio, the now-former leader of the neo-fascist Proud Boys gang convicted on treason-related charges after fuelling a mob on January 6, is set to be released from federal prison following Donald Trump ’s expected clemency order.

Rhodes and Tarrio were among the most prominent defendants from January 6 and had received some of the harshest punishments.

Trump's blanket order came the same day that Joe Biden used the final minutes of his presidency to issue pre-emptive pardons for his brothers and sister, as well as members of the US House of Representatives committee whose investigation into the Capitol riot concluded Trump was to blame.
