The Environmental Protection Agency just finalized one of the Biden administration’s only outstanding climate rules, aimed at cracking down on leaks of methane — a potent planet-warming gas with an outsized impact on the climate.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) commented on Trump’s message, saying he “will do whatever it takes to get your nominations through as quickly as possible.” Shortly after, Scott gained support from Elon Musk, who said that Scott should be the next Senate majority leader.

What really caused shock — and anger — was that the president’s flagship climate law appeared out of the blue and seemed unfriendly to America’s allies. Most notably, the subsidies it offers for green energy exclude some of America’s “friends” such as the EU and South Korea.
