Jason Kidd’s top assistant coach is officially moving on from the Dallas Mavericks after four seasons with the franchise. Sean Sweeney has agreed to a deal to become the associate head coach of the San Antonio Spurs under Mitch Johnson,

The St. Paul product is leaving Dallas, where he spent the last four years serving as the Mavericks’ defensive coordinator, for San Antonio, per an ESPN report. Sweeney, a Cretin-Derham hall and University of St. Thomas product, will become the Spurs’ associate head coach under San Antonio head man Mitch Johnson.
