Texas-born actor Selena Gomez has fans in their feelings after announcing that she'll be stepping back into an iconic role. The Grand Prairie native played Alex Russo on the hit Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place from 2007 until the show's finale in 2012.

In the original series, Gomez's Alex Russo was a young wizard who trained in magic alongside her two brothers with the knowledge that only one of them would be able to keep their powers once they reached adulthood.

Selena Gomez will reprise Alex Russo as a guest star in Season 2 of the Disney series "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place." The show is a spinoff of and sequel to "Wizards of Waverly Place."
