Tesla stock looks attractive for aggressive investors who can handle being bullish when so many others are bearish—and can handle a little surrealism. Beyond the polarizing persona of CEO Elon Musk is an innovative electric-vehicle company in an unusual predicament that is rarely associated with companies worth almost $1 trillion.

That wasn't the only competitor news impacting Tesla today. Zeekr, owned by Geely Auto, is reportedly offering an advanced driver-assistance system to Chinese customers for free. Tesla charges a monthly fee for its full self-driving technology in the U.S. if customers don't pay for it at the time of the vehicle purchase.

Tesla shares have fallen more than 40% since January — erasing all of the “Trump bump” that briefly saw the stock gain more than 90% after Election Day. Musk, whose wealth is overwhelmingly linked to his Tesla holdings, has personally lost $121 billion from his net worth over the past three months.
