Attorneys for a road construction inspector who survived the Baltimore bridge collapse in March are planning to file a claim against the owner and manager of the ship that lost power and crashed into

The ship’s owner and manager … sent an ill-prepared crew on an abjectly unseaworthy vessel to navigate the United States’ waterways,” the Justice Department says in its new civil claim.

The families say they’ll join others in accusing the companies of negligently ignoring problems on the ship before it left Baltimore. The companies have filed a court petition seeking to limit their legal liability.
