U.S. stock indexes remained stuck in place as Wall Street made few big moves ahead of what’s expected to be the first cut to interest rates in more than four years.

There are a lot of opportunities to acquire world class technology and talent at a significant discount if you have the cash. As importantly, cheap(er) money is on its way back.

Consumer spending was tepid last month but exceeded forecasts. Data from the Census Bureau showed retail sales were up 0.1% in August from the month prior, beating economists' expectations for a 0.2% decline. Slowing automobile sales pressured the headline number, though this was offset by strong online sales.
