Updates to the vibration drivers in the headphones should deliver improved sound quality, and the comfort and call clarity have also been upgraded. AI noise reduction is used to isolate your voice during calls, and you can choose between sound modes in the partner Audio-Technica Connect app.

The brand has announced the ATH-CC500BT2 pair which, unlike many conventional headphones, provide stereo audio without blocking the ear canal. The open-ear design works by vibrating each ear's cartilage, allowing for sound to be heard without the need for bud insertion or over-ear immersion.

The ATH-CC500BT2 use cartilage conduction technology to transmit "high-quality" audio without the intrusion of in-ear buds.
