Click into the text boxes on the page -- unlike Word, all of the text in Publisher is in text boxes -- and highlight the placeholder text. Type what you need for the template.

But if your Publisher is showing a border around the text box and you want to remove it, you can do so by formatting the text box. Right-click anywhere inside the text box and select Format Text Box .
