Trader Joe’s beloved mini tote is coming back — with new colors for spring. The grocery store chain confirmed that the viral object of grocery shopping desire will return to stores across the country in April. “The exact date they will be available in each neighborhood Trader Joe’s will vary,” the company told USA TODAY.

The grocer is bringing back its mini canvas tote this April in stores across the country, Trader Joe’s confirmed in a statement to TODAY.com.

A pastel version of the popular mini canvas tote bags is said to be coming soon to Trader Joe. The bags have been known to go quickly, particularly because there is an active reselling market online, with sellers getting far more for them than the $2.99 retail price.

Trader Joe’s also had massive success with its mini insulated tote bags, which went viral in June 2024. At the time, the bags — the right fit for either storing lunch or keeping drinks cold — were sold in magenta and teal for $3.99 each. There was only a limited amount of totes available at most stores.

Trader Joe's mini insulated totes came out in pink and purple last month. Sales of the $3.99 bag were limited to two per customer at the Reno location. They sold online for around $30 to $40 for a set of two on the date of release.

Mini canvas tote bags are coming back just in time for Easter – this time in pastel colors. The viral mini canvas totes contributed to long lines and frenzied shopping last year. They quickly sold out, with online resellers getting 10 times and more over the $2.99 retail price.
