Two unnamed student athletes sued University of Michigan, ex-football assistant coach Matthew Weiss and other defendants after Weiss was indicted for allegedly downloading thousands of students' intimate photos and videos.

Weiss, 42, was charged on March 20​ with 14 counts of unauthorized access to computers and 10 counts of aggravated identity theft. The lawsuit was filed in federal court on March 21.
