In the centuries since its founding in 71 AD, the walled city of York has reinvented itself many times and, in doing so, has become inextricably woven into the rich tapestry of English history.

It was the Kowloon Walled City, also called the City of Darkness. For years, this infamous settlement that lacked government oversight was rampant with illegal activities and poor living conditions.
