Alfred Williams — then a standout linebacker for Colorado — said Mike Gundy called him the N-word during a 41-17 win in 1989 at Oklahoma State.

State Rep. Alfred C. Williams died Tuesday. He was 64. A Democrat who represented Baton Rouge, Williams served in the House since 2011. He also had served on the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board.

And according to Williams, Gundy repeatedly called him and his Black teammates the N-word. These accusations were actually brought up against Gundy at the time 30 years ago.

Williams had been the co-host of “The Drive” with Darren “D-Mac” McKee. “Alfred “Big Al” Williams has chosen to leave the station effective today,” 104.3 released in a statement.
