Angel City defender Savy King was hospitalized in stable condition a day after she was stretchered off the field because of what’s being called a “medical event” during the National Women’s Soccer Lea

The National Women Soccer League said in the statement Saturday that Angel City Football Club defender Savy King “currently remains stable and will be undergoing further evaluation.”

Angel City defender Savy King is "responsive" and receiving further medical attention at a hospital after collapsing in the second half of the NWSL team's 2-0 win over Utah Royals on Friday. King went down in the 74th minute of the game and received attention from medical professionals on the pitch for about 10 minutes before she was substituted off for Megan Reid.
