Liverpool and Newcastle United will meet in the Carabao Cup final for the chance at the first piece of silverware of the season.

Newcastle have the opportunity to end an extended domestic trophy drought that stretches all the way back to 1955, when they won the FA Cup. They have never won the League Cup but have reached the final twice before, losing to City in 1976 and to Manchester United in 2023.

Liverpool produced a dominant display at Anfield to secure their place in the Carabao Cup final with an emphatic victory over Tottenham. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, the Reds delivered a commanding performance to overturn the deficit and book a showdown with Newcastle at Wembley on March 16.

Newcastle United will take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley next month. The Magpies are in the final for the second time in three years having suffered heartbreak in the capital against Manchester United in 2023.
