NASCAR Cup Series driver Chase Briscoe started Sunday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway from the pole, thanks to his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry.

Chase Briscoe has won five poles this season, including at the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600 and now the Brickyard 400.

Tensions are high today in Indianapolis. The pole-sitter, Chase Briscoe, is doing his best to stay in contention for the win. However, on a pit stop in Stage 2, crew chief James Small had to get onto his driver for missing his mark.

This weekend is the big one for Chase Briscoe. A native Hoosier, and the son of affable Sprint Car racer Kevin Briscoe, the Mitchell, Indiana export has wanted to win the Brickyard 400 above every other race on the schedule.

Chase Briscoe grabbed the Busch Light pole for Sunday's Brickyard 400, and he did it in front of his home crowd at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Indiana native Chase Briscoe won the pole in what was a top-five lockout of the front row by Toyota. Ty Gibbs and Ty Dillon will be battling for the NASCAR In-Season Challenge crown in which the winner takes home $1 million. The stages today are 50-50-60.
