Kaitlyn Dever plays Belle Gibson in Netflix’s new series, Apple Cider Vinegar, which shines a light on real-life Australian scammer Belle, who pretended she both had and cured a brain tumour using natural remedies. It seems the director always had Kaitlyn in mind for the role after she was offered the role without even having to audition.

The is billed as a “true-ish story based on a lie" and is inspired by a 2017 book, “The Woman Who Fooled the World,” by two investigative journalists, Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, who explored Gibson’s deception.
