Jeremy Corbyn has just launched a new political party on the left called “Your Party”. The former Labour leader issued a statement – also signed by former Labour MP Zarah Sultana – promising a “new kind of political party. One that belongs to you.” Corbyn has sat as an independent since his expulsion from Labour in 2024.

More than a third of MPs have signed a letter to Sir Keir Starmer calling for the UK to recognise a Palestinian state. Some 220 MPs from nine political parties have backed the call - more than half of them Labour - arguing that UK recognition would send a "powerful" message and a vital step toward a two-state solution.
