Authorities are continuing to investigate the source of medical waste that washed up along Delmarva's coastline, impacting areas from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, to Chincoteague, Virginia. The

Assateague State Park; Ocean City, and Fenwick Island have all temporarily prohibited ocean access following medical waste washing up on their shores.

Beachgoers were urged to stay out of the water after dozens of hypodermic needles, as well as tampon applicators and other medical waste, were found on beaches over the weekend.
