Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Corbin Burnes is set to undergo Tommy John surgery, ending his season early in the first year of a six-year, $210 million contract.

Burnes will miss the rest of the 2025 season and most of 2026. His absence could affect teams around the major leagues.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo has informed members of the media that right-hander Corbin Burnes will undergo Tommy John surgery. Burnes will therefore miss the remainder of this season and possibly the entire 2026 campaign as well.
