The Mel Brooks film Spaceballs is a cult classic and a fan favorite; it’s a shame the film didn’t resonate more with critics.

Parodying Star Wars, Spaceballs mocked merchandising and teased a sequel. Rick Moranis returns for Spaceballs 2, while acknowledgments for John Candy, Joan Rivers, and Daphne Zuniga are expected.

In Spaceballs, Princess Vespa of Planet Druidia (Daphne Zuniga) flees her dull groom, Prince Valium, on her wedding day, and falls for a cool regular guy named Lone Starr (Bill Pullman).

The talented cast included Daphne Zuniga, who is returning for the sequel, along with the late actors Dick Van Patten, Joan Rivers, and John Candy.

At the very least, it would be amazing to see Bill Pullman and Daphne Zuniga return, as catching up with Lone Star and Princess Vespa in the present day feels like step one for the new sequel.
