According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Feyenoord have had a request to postpone their league fixture against Groningen approved by the country’s federation. The choice was reportedly “dictated by the fact that Van Persie has been the new coach for less than a week”.
Robin van Persie has been appointed Feyenoord head coach on a contract through to the summer of 2027. The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker will be assisted by Rene Hake, who spent the first part of the 2024-25 season as assistant coach to Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
