On Saturday, the San Antonio Spurs traveled to southern California for the first of two games against the Los Angeles Lakers. The game was ultimately postponed by the NBA due to concerns about the event making managing the wildfires that are ravaging the area harder to fight.

After having five full days off due to the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, the Lakers seemed to sink themselves into quicksand against the Spurs.

After the Lakers and Clippers had games postponed due to Los Angeles-area wildfires, they are expected to resume play Monday.

Victor Wembanyama, Devin Vassell and Stephon Castle each scored 23 as San Antonio overcame an 11-point deficit for a 126-102 victory.

The Lakers will dedicate the game against the Spurs to the first responders and the Los Angeles community impacted by the wildfires.
