Three of the viruses — flu, COVID-19 and RSV — are respiratory viruses and spread from person to person through germ-filled droplets of fluid from an infected person’s nose or mouth. Recent data indicates that the nation is experiencing its most intense flu season in at least 15 years.

The recall has recently been expanded to include 17 states total, Pennsylvania among them. Restaurants and retailers should throw these contaminated oysters away, the FDA states. The administration notes that the oysters will look and taste normal, even if they are contaminated.
