Speaking on the "Baseball Isn't Boring" podcast this week, free agent reliever Joe Kelly said that he could hang up his spikes because of injury issues, but he's not ready to just yet.

While he hasn't lived up to the hype after being selected with the No. 26 pick in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft, Chavis has had stints where he looks like he could be a decent player at the big league level. His career numbers aren't great, slashing .238/.283/.402 with an 83 OPS+ and just 42 home runs in 1,106 at-bats, however.

As first reported by the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, the Los Angeles Angels are signing the veteran to a one-year, $10 million deal. The 37-year-old Jansen spent the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox, making his fourth career All-Star team in 2023. Jansen recorded a total of 56 saves across two seasons, posting a 3.44 ERA.
