After replacing injured starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Pickett beat the Dallas Cowboys with broken ribs.

PHILADELPHIA − Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett left the game with a little more than 8 minutes left in the third quarter Sunday when he was hit in the ribs by Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons on a touchdown pass to A.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kenny Pickett injured his ribs in a fill-in start for Jalen Hurts and was forced out of the game in the third quarter Sunday against Dallas. Hurts was sidelined by the lingering effects of a concussion suffered last week in Washington which opened the door for Pickett to start for the first time this season.

In a battle of backup quarterbacks, the host Philadelphia Eagles (13-3) had the definitive edge over the Dallas Cowboys (7-9) as they dominated in a decisive 41-7 Week 17 victory.  They clinched the 2024 NFC East division title with the win.

Without Jalen Hurts, Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee kept the offense running, and Saquon Barkley passed the 2,000-yard rushing mark this season as the Eagles beat the Cowboys to clinch the division.
