TAMPA, Fla. — A woman who tried to rescue a dog spotted on a highway was killed after a car hit her. A 25-year-old Tampa woman stopped her Kia Optima on Dale Mabry Highway when she saw the dog on Thursday night. As the woman approached the dog, a 69-year-old man driving a Toyota RAV4 struck both her and the animal.
