BIRMINGHAM, Ala. − South Carolina women's basketball survived a tight Sweet 16 game against No. 4 Maryland on Friday and after a 71-67 win, is playing in its fifth straight Elite Eight.

Bryant men's basketball coach Phil Martelli Jr. is a leading candidate for the head coach position at VCU. Martelli led Bryant to a program record 23 wins in just his second season as head coach.
