Nintendo has revealed the Switch 2, the long awaited successor to one of the best-selling consoles in history, will be released on June 5. Fans have been impatiently waiting to find out more since January, when the Japanese gaming giant ended months of speculation by confirming basic information about the new device.
This appears to run similarly to the “Download Play” option for the Nintendo DS. For example, one person may own a copy of Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain, but using the new GameShare option, your friends can jump in and join you to play, even if they don’t own it.
Several Nintendo trademarks have gone public from the USPTO, including the Switch 2 logos, some games, and even a theme park ride.
As announced during the livestream, the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025.
