Three years ago a painting went to auction and was expected to sell for $200,000. Instead it commanded $15.275 million. In retrospect, it makes sense.

Minneapolis gallery owner Ryan Nelson calls the painting, “A Walk in the Woods,” the “rookie card” for Ross. Nelson bought the painting last year and then priced it at $9.85 million.
